While we’re not afraid to step outside of our style boxes, we pretty much have a niche we stick into. Patricio is known for good denim and sneakers, minimal but effortlessly cool. My style is a myriad of prints that shouldn’t work (and sometimes really don’t), mixed with feminine details. But there are days where we mix it up and take inspirations from the other – or even Sugar & Cloth’s very own Color Wall. Our second shoot yielded two very different looks from our usual. I opted for my favorite pair of J.Crew x New Balance sneakers in bright citrus colors and jeans. An oversized tee kept this casual, but with a feminine touch of my favorite Kate Spade bag.
Patricio was polished in a white band collar shirt and blue jeans. If you're singing Lana Del Rey's Blue Jeans right now -- you're in good company, because so am I. Still a nod to his denim roots, but a great twist when you want to give your look a tailored touch by including a pair of Ludlow oxfords. These looks carried us on our journey around Houston – including a stop at Little Liberty near Rice University for a lunch full of divine takes on favorites like pizza and burgers, topped of with mint lemonade. As if our surroundings of this darling café mixed with cerulean prints and whimsical art weren’t enough, we were taken back by our fantastic lunch choices. (More to come about our stint at Little Liberty)
Houston was a day trip full of adventure and discovery. If you’re in town, or even close, be sure to get over to Sugar & Cloth’s Color Wall for an unforgettable photo op. There are plenty of great shops, eats, and surprises in Beyonce’s (and my) hometown. While we were not keeping it H-Town vicious, we definitely were aiming for H-Town precious. Bad joke, but who could resist the opportunity?
