So we’ve got the blues – we’re literally wearing them. If you’ve been keeping up, you’ve probably realized that blue is Patricio’s passion color. All kinds of blue – denim, indigo, cerulean, royal; there’s not a shade he strays away from.
My color palette ranges around every other color.
But that delight in the brighter spectrum fell away when I saw this blue and white gingham tunic from J.Crew. It was the perfect shirt for so many occasions and variations. If you’re a #JCREWADDICT
like we are, you’ll know that the movers and shakers of J.Crew have launched a challenge for anyone else who is a gingham aficionado to show of their checkered gigs. Post a picture on Instagram with the hashtag
#jcrewchallenge to be featured on the J.Crew page. You can count us in on this one!
Patricio opted for a white and blue checked shirt paired with a navy sweats, and his coveted pair of monk straps for a true high-low look. If you work in an environment that is more business casual, a button down and dress shoe allow for rocking a pair of sweats if styled the right way. I came back to my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, paired with sky-high royal blue heels from Target. Remember our post about bargains? I know you’re going to hate me when you know that I snagged these heels for $6.99. Yeah... six... ninety-nine. Another take on high-low with an understated outfit paired with showy heels.
So don’t be afraid of checks, and definitely don’t stray from getting the blues. Opting for this sometimes-underrated color can allow you to really play with your look, whether it is with brighter colors or proportions. These are the kind of blues that don't bring you down, in fact a good blue outfit can make everything just right.
