If you’ve been following us for even a few weeks, you should know that there are a few things that we gravitate towards. Patricio loves denim – like love, loves. Jeans, jean jackets, indigo-dyed anything – it’s a true obsession passion It’s to the point that everyone feels like something is amidst if Patricio isn’t in his signature denim on denim. Levi’s is the mainstay when it comes to solid denim, and you can pretty much guarantee that something he’s wearing will be a Levi’s piece. Besides unique, quality denim – Levi’s also has some great novelty pieces. Patricio snagged this Levi’s logo tee for under $10 at a Levi’s pit stop we made a while back. So while Patricio keeps it clean and all-American, you can spot me a mile away in any print I can.
Prints on prints on prints is a motto that I’ve made internal. Whether it be stripes, florals, plaid, gingham – Prints have a place in my closet (and most importantly in my heart). I actually was lucky enough to be gifted this Old Navy printed blazer by a friend, and it’s become one of my favorite ways to jazz up an outfit. Remember those blue and white china sets your grandma probably had? This blazer is the living incarnation of that. Sometimes I like to print play, but this time I kept it simple with a blue skirt and a peach linen tank.
We’re two people that definitely like to experiment and play with our style. If we showed you the origins of Mint Society from three years ago you’d see some similar elements, just tailored a little bit. Style should be fun, effortless and most importantly, your own. We’ve both find our ‘uniform’ if you will, but know and accept that in a year we might feel a whole different way.
Moral of the story? Don’t limit yourself! Find out what works for you and own it, pair it different ways, and let your style speak for you. What are your ‘mainstays’? We’d love to hear your favorite items in your closet? What are those pieces you can’t live without? Comment below!
